Hangman Poker was founded by Jeff McMurray in Oct. 2007 but his legacy began long before in the seedy Dallas poker underground.

Jeff became interested in Poker in 2002 after being brow beaten by a good friend of his into studying the game.  After about a year of reluctant reading and study, he came to play in his first real game and was hooked.

He found success early and continued his study and ironed out the leaks in his game.  His friendly and easy-going manner earned him the nickname "Pleasantville" and it wasn't long before he was allegedly dealing in the underground poker scene of Dallas TX.  Soon after that, he was allegedly managing a poker room there.

He began to get questions from the players in his alleged rooms on specific hands and the way they had been played.  Jeff realized that many players had little comprehension of basic concepts regarding the game of poker.  The natural course led him to give private lessons to several of his players.

For the last several years, Jeff has made his living teaching and playing poker online.  He formed Hangman Poker to bring his teachings into a group setting.

Whether playing, dealing(allegedly), running(allegedly), or teaching the game of Texas Hold 'em Jeff has exemplified the characteristics of integrity, excellence, and success.
